I am photographed here 10 days before the proclamation of the mobilization
in Bulgaria on 5 September 1915. I was just entering the 8th class of the
gymnasium (american "high school") in Plovdiv.

Here I am photographed on the battle field, in Macedonia at the Struma
front, 10 kilometres
to the west of the town of Ser in March 1918 in one of the galleries.
Here I was an artilery officer candidate, on 2
15 centimeter gaubicas [type of cannon, e.g. howitzer] with 42
kg each bullet [shell] and we were only 200 meters behind the infantry. |
